We celebrated my daughter's 9th birthday at Ultimate Ninjas, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The staff went above and beyond to make the day special.

There was a party decorator who literally took my birthday decorations out of my hands and said, "I've got it," and decorated the entire party room without me even being there. She even blew up balloons that we hadn't even discussed beforehand! That level of thoughtfulness and initiative made the day so much less stressful for me, and I can't thank her enough.

All the workers were incredible with the kids. In the gym they kept everyone engaged by playing games, encouraging the children, and showing so much patience and enthusiasm throughout the party. They made sure every child had fun and felt included.

The entire team made my daughter's birthday unforgettable, and their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would come back a million times and highly recommend Ultimate Ninjas to anyone looking for an amazing birthday party venue!

In summary, I think the coaches are nice and helpful, but not great at helping kids build skills. It sometimes seems like there are just too many small kids per coach and they seem to focus on the kids who already have some skill and leave the beginners to flounder; if they get it, great, if they don't who cares? If I hadn't accidentally signed up for a whole year (not something I like to do), we'd be stopping.

My son is 7 and has been attending for about six months. My view is that this is perfect for some kids and not for others. Kids that are naturally climbing and swinging from things are definitely a good fit. My son isn't the strongest and isn't the most coordinated, which is why we signed up. The coaches are helpful with kids that aren't strong enough or big enough to get started on obstacles, but it seems rare that they actually give instruction on how to get better at the obstacles. So, they're helpful, but not so great at skill building, at least for the general classes.

That doesn't mean my son doesn't have fun and hasn't developed skills. He's mastered the small run-up wall, though I think that's mostly because of me coaching him at the end of class.

My kids just had a trial class. All 3 of them were in 3 different age groups. In the end, all 3 groups had some free play! The staff is very patient and kind. Another pro, is they offer homeschooling classes!

All 3 of my kids loved it!
All in all a great experience.

Cons: I wished the staff encouraged them them to partake a little more, because I noticed my 2 older kids to take breaks too frequently, when the rest of their peer groups were not on a water break.

Nice facility. Have been to many Ultimate ninja gyms. My grandsons have competed in competitions here with much success. Unfortunately they are never on time as they schedule too many athletes for the time period they allow. Time and number of athletes and time allowed for each run don't add up. Running on time is important on weekends when families have other commitments. Plus their parking lot is way too small for these events. They need to seek out alternative parking and let people know. Just a suggestion..cap the number of competitors to fit your time frames. Maybe that will also help with your parking.

After three sessions, I absolutely love this facility. The staff are kind, professional, and, most importantly, nurturing towards your child. They all genuinely care and show true kindness. As a teacher with over 20 years of experience, I am in awe of the professionalism and coaching techniques these young individuals bring to the table. The entire facility is run smoothly, and I am thoroughly impressed with their agility training. They are teaching our young ones crucial skills to navigate the world we live in today. They are truly preparing them to be strong and resilient, which is fantastic. You won’t regret giving it a try. I highly doubt you'll regret choosing this company—they’re simply amazing. Great people, wonderful staff, and a clean, welcoming facility. It's truly awesome.

My daughter's school had a fundraiser here. It was a success and everyone had a blast. The kids got free time to play and there were different games and competitions the staff facilitated to keep the fun going. Highly recommend!

They do a great job. Ninja is a great alternative or supplement to gymnastic, and the coaches are energetic and encouraging, helping build confidence. My daughter is prone to stress and they handled a situation where she was very negative amazingly well.

I appreciate that there are so many classes offered because as a working parent, I sometimes struggle to find options that work for our schedule. I also frequently use the makeup class option, which the staff is incredibly helpful in managing.

The facilities are clean, and my kids would say the birthday parties here are the “most fun”. Absolutely recommend.

Impressive equipment (it's not just a gymnastics setup with some obstacles thrown in - it is legit enough for epic obstacle course TV show training) and friendly staff make this a fantastic place to being kids to learn or adults to train.

I had my child's birthday party at Ultimate Ninja's and the whole party was amazing. Charlie, EJ and Danielle did an amazing job coordinating, setting up the room and leading the kids through activities. Would definitely recommend.

We attended a private birthday party there last night. My oldest isn’t even 2 yet, she still had a blast. The facility was great but, what really makes the experience is the staff. They somehow remembered every kids name, were so interactive ( not annoyingly) and created fun games. I would do this as an adult party, and I can’t wait for my kids to be old enough to really enjoy all it has to offer.

We had our daughter's birthday there today and were really impressed by the organization and how easy their team makes events for the families. They entertain the kids and keep them fully engaged for 2 hours. They also prep everything in the party room and clean things up. Everyone was super courteous and happy to help. I thought it went so great that I want to have my birthday there.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Ultimate Ninjas Elmhurst

What does Ultimate Ninjas Elmhurst offer?

We're an indoor obstacle gym on West Lake Street for DuPage County families. Weekly coach-led classes, open play, birthday parties, school-break camps, and adult fitness share one floor.

How old does my child need to be at Elmhurst?

Lil Ninjas is ages 3–5. Core kids classes and open play are 6+. Birthday parties can include younger siblings from about age 3 when the package allows.

Can we try Elmhurst before joining?

Yes. Claim a free class so your child can meet coaches and try the course before you buy a pack. It's the easiest way to see if the Elmhurst gym fits.

What's the difference between classes and open play here?

Classes are weekly, coached stations — grip, balance, jumps. Open play is supervised free time on the same course with no syllabus.

Where is the Elmhurst gym?

684 W Lake St., Elmhurst, IL 60126. Easy from I-290 / York Road. Call (630) 478-2710 for first-visit tips. Free parking at the building.

Is this a good pick when DuPage weather is miserable?

Yes. Elmhurst winters and icy school weeks keep kids indoors. The course is fully inside, so slush and polar-vortex days don't cancel practice.

Are parents allowed to watch in Elmhurst?

Yes. There's viewing space so you can watch without standing on the obstacles.

What should kids wear the first time?

Close-fitting athletic clothes and closed-toe shoes. No flip-flops or dangling jewelry. Bring a labeled water bottle.

How do we get started at Elmhurst?

Grab a free class or open the Elmhurst schedule on this page, pick a program, and finish the waiver before anyone steps on the floor.
